Tour the office with Dr. Wu Dhi

If You Really want it You can Get It.

February 2nd, 2012

When I was just 17 years old
I met a girl and I fell head-over-
heals for her. At that time she was
just 15 and I couldn’t wait to take
her out on a date. So I borrowed my
Dads car and headed over to see
her and meet the parents. I guess
it was no surprise when her mother
said she wasn’t going anywhere with a
teenager with a car and raging hormones.
I was disappointed but there was no way
I was giving up.

It turned out that her mother was a Yoga
instructor and taught classes every week.
Although I didn’t have a clue what yoga
was at that time, I went to her classes and
said I loved it and wanted to come to more
classes. It was great! I sat as close to my
sweetie as I could possibility get and rolled,
stretched, bent over and laid with my eyes
closed and my heart beating for the entire class.
After I became a regular Yogie fan her
mother trusted us to go out and pick up
some dessert and bring it back to the family.
At last we had an hour alone.
I drove to the
restaurant as fast as I could go, pick up
the order, park in a dark street and make
out for ½ hour and drive back to her
parents’ house as quick as possible.
That was it! I was hooked on Yoga and
never missed a class. In fact I often
stopped over to ask her mother questions
about the practices and got to spend some
more time with my sweetie.

My entire body mind and spirit was focused
on being at their house and the yoga was
the key to unlocking what I wanted.
Doing a practice has rewards way beyond
our imagination. When I was a youngen it
didn’t matter what the motivation was.
I had a goal and nothing was going to
stand in my way.

That was a long time ago but the lesson
learned still applies today. If you want
something no matter how impossible it
may seem, if you are motivated in body,
mind and spirit- YOU WILL GET IT!
Over the last 40 or 50 years I have studied
many aspects of health, both Eastern and Western.
They include internal and external exercises,
many systems of yoga, meditation, Qi Gong,
Shen Gong and Nei Gong and many longevity
practices you may not be aware of that are
still practiced in Europe today.
These practices involve living life in a
responsible way and living life to its fullest
but integrating the reality of the world you
live in by taking a mindful look around you.
In Buddhism they have a formula to live life
to it’s fullest, it’s called:

The Noble Eightfold Path
1. Right View
2. Right Intention
3. Right Speech
4. Right Action
5. Right Livelihood
6. Right Effort
7. Right Mindfulness
8. Right Concentration

It is a practical guideline to ethical and
mental development with the goal of freeing
the individual from attachments and
delusions; and it finally leads to
understanding the truth about all things.
Great emphasis is put on the practical aspect,
because it is only through practice that one
can attain a higher level of being and
reach Enlightenment.

1. Right View
To see and to understand things as they
really are. Right view is the intellectual aspect
of wisdom. It means to see things through,
to grasp the impermanent and imperfect
nature of worldly objects and ideas, and to
understand the law of karma.

2. Right Intention
The mental energy that controls our actions,
it can be described best as commitment to
ethical and mental self-improvement.

3. Right Speech
Proper conduct is viewed as a guideline to
proper control of your life. The importance
of speech is obvious: words can break or
save lives, make enemies or friends,
start war or create peace.

4. Right Action
Healthy actions lead to sound states of mind.
Again, the principle is explained in terms of
abstinence: right action means

A. To abstain from harming any living being,
especially to abstain from taking life
(including suicide) and doing harm
intentionally or delinquently.

B. To abstain from taking what is not given,
which includes stealing, robbery, fraud,
deceitfulness, and dishonesty.

C. To abstain from sexual misconduct.
Positively formulated, right action means
to act kindly and compassionately, to be
honest, to respect the belongings of others,
and to keep sexual relationships harmless to others.

5. Right Livelihood
Right livelihood means that one should
earn one’s living in a righteous way and
that wealth should be gained legally and peacefully.

6. Right Effort
Without effort, which is in itself an act of
will, nothing can be achieved. Mental
energy is the force behind right effort.
The same type of energy that fuels desire,
envy, aggression, and violence can on the
other side fuel self-discipline, honesty,
benevolence, and kindness.

7. Right Mindfulness
It is the mental ability to see things as
they are, with clear consciousness.
Right mindfulness is anchored in clear
perception and it penetrates impressions
without getting carried away.

8. Right Concentration
Right Concentration on wholesome
thoughts and actions to develop the
right concentration is through the
practice of meditation. The meditating
mind focuses on a selected object, then
sustains concentration, and finally intensifies
concentration step by step.
Through this practice it becomes natural
to apply raised levels of concentration in
everyday situations.

In search of a Good Meal

January 27th, 2012

For the last few years I have been looking
for a good breakfast place near my house.
God knows I have tried everyone within a 5 mile
radius of my house and I am sorry to say there just
aren’t any good ones, but I kept on searching.

I knew there must be something around.
Most restaurants serve eggs, bacon, toast and coffee
but they don’t think about health. Breakfast is often
called the most important meal of the day and there
are good reasons for that.
When you wake up in the morning, your body has
been fasting, for hours.
Breakfast literally means, “Break the fast.”
A good breakfast gives your body and brain
the energy they need to function.
By eating breakfast, you’ll be less likely to overeat
later in the day. If you’re trying to lose weight,
don’t try to cut calories by skipping breakfast.
Studies have shown that most people who have lost
weight and kept it off eat breakfast every day.
Research has shown that those who eat a healthy
breakfast are more productive than those who don’t.
We know school reports that children who eat
breakfast get higher test scores and perform
better all year long.

What I prefer in the morning is protein like eggs at
least a few days a week with vegetables and
occasionally I’ll add some smoked salmon or turkey.
I usually do 2 whites to one whole egg.
A few mornings I just eat fruit and drink tea, and
this really gets the bowels moving and keeps the
system clean. As for the other days I drink a good
protein drink like I-5 from Zymogen -16 grams of
protein, all of the amino’s and the necessary vitamins.

I’ll add a scoop of “Greens First,” it’s filled with all of
the fruits and vegetables you’ll need for the entire day
in 1 scoop and I make sure I take my vitamins with it.

You can order the I5 and the Greens First
by letting me know and I’ll send it out the next day.

I wish you the best in your Health,
Wealth and Happiness

Why your Integrity affects your Health

January 16th, 2012

I was at a party this past weekend
with a group of people from Michigan.
I really didn’t know anyone, but as the
night went on the conversation turned to ‘who do we know.’
It turned out that many years ago, Frank
who is one of my close friends did some work
with a very beautiful model that he hasn’t seen
or heard of since the late sixties where he had
the opportunity to work with us on a TV show.
Anyway, he had to travel up north to the frozen
land of my youth and ran into that woman.
Marnie Lane, the model went on to say what a
pleasure it was to work with my friend and
what a ‘Mensch’ he was. By the way if you don’t know
what a ‘mensch’ is, it’s a Yiddish word that means
“a person of integrity.” A ‘mensch’ is someone who is
responsible, has a sense of right and wrong and is the
sort of person other people look up to.
You see, your reputation follows you around forever.
No matter if it is good or bad, it will stick just like glue.
That’s why your word and your integrity is so important.
“A life lived with integrity – even if it lacks
the trappings of fame and fortune is a
shinning star in whose light others
may follow in the years to come.”
-Denis Waitley

When you keep your word with
yourself and others your health
will improve as well as your mental capacity.

Neale Donald Walsch wrote in Conversations with God,
The Five Levels of Truth-Telling:
1. You tell the truth to yourself about yourself.
2. Tell the truth to yourself about another.
3. You tell the truth about yourself to another.
4. You tell your truth about another to that other.
5. You tell the truth to everyone about everything.

When these five levels of truth are applied to
your life you will start to be more congruent in
what you say and what you do. You become in
line with the universal principles and you do what
you say and say what you’ll do.
So many people forget the laws of the universe and
say that they are going to do something and never
seem to get around to doing it. This causes a break
in their integrity and before you know it their own
subconscious mind can’t and doesn’t even trust them.
The break in their integrity will eventually cause
problems in both the body and mind.
This isn’t the way you want to go.
When you Say what you’ll do something “Just DO IT!!”

Every week I teach a meditation class in my office
and I offer these teachings to people. Students are
starting to make major shifts in their life! Their health
is better, they’re more congruent with their speech,
and they are more honest with themselves. People are
loving themselves more, their self-esteem is going up
and any form of old depression is vanishing. Every
month, the people in the group receive a DVD on these
teachings to practice, learn and grow. They have reported
that the DVD’s are the best learning tool to keep them on
track mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
To be part of this, join
Dr. Wu Dhi’s Qi Gong Inner Circle!
–and you too will teceive these wonderful
teaching every MONTH!

Is your garbage can full?

January 10th, 2012

This week I’ve been seeing more patients
than one could imagine with environmental
diseases, allergies, and hives. It seems to be
all stemming from the excess pollution in our
food, water, air and plastics. We are being
poisoned on a daily basis and our government
agencies aren’t doing anything to change it.
It seems to me that the old mighty dollar is
taking precedent over our health and well-being.

I had a patient just today who was violently
allergic to peanuts, sesame oil and all types of
nuts in general! Not only does she break out in hives,
her respiratory system closes down to the point where
she needs to be rushed to the emergency to save her life.
Although, we have all heard of instances like this,
it seems like in today’s world, it’s happening more
often and to more people than one would ever imagine.

What can you do to protect yourself and your family?

It’s hidden everywhere!
In Rachel Carson’s book, The Silent Spring,
she warned us back in the 60’s that we were going
to have a big problem with pesticides, herbicides,
mercury, hydrocarbons, and more carcinogenic material.
Did we listen?
Heck NO!

Every day I see people with lung disease, cancer,
gulf war syndrome, birth defects, and chemical poisoning.
There is also the Sick building syndrome- that’s
when the building has so many pollutants in it,
poor ventilation, poor temperature control, and
pollution from outdoor sources, chemicals like
cleaning supplies, and copier machines. All of this
lowers our immune system and before we know
it we are sick as dogs!

Imagine that you have a garbage can in your house
and every day you throw garbage into the can,
eventually the garbage can will fill up and you will not
be able to close it with a lid and then the next thing
you know -you have flies, maggots, roaches and rats!!

That’s disgusting!
Now, you can do one of two things:
You can poison the pests and spray the bugs, but in
no time they will come back. If you want to get rid of
the pests what you need to do is empty and clean the
garbage can. It’s the same in our bodies! If you have some
dis-ease and you are trying to cover it up with antibiotics,
steroids and over the counter medicine, it’s just not going to work!

You need to change your internal environment.
You need to detox and you need to detox NOW!
Don’t hesitate; don’t wait until you get sick!

DO IT TODAY!

I was Shanghaied and held as a Prisoner

December 19th, 2011

This morning after my workout
and a little breakfast,
I planned to go to the Glazer Farms organic market
in Coconut Grove.

It’s about 30 to 45 minutes away from my house.
What I like about the organic market is that
they have countless unusual prepared salads,
soups, fresh juices, mouth-watering coconut
water and the best darn raw fruit pies that you
have ever tasted. Not only are all of these treats
delicious, they are extremely healthy filled with
minerals and vitamins.
My plan was to stock up and have a weeks worth
of ready to eat healthy foods and treats.

My friend Bob said he was going to the market as
well, so we planned to go together and meet up at
around 10 O’ clock. The market trip usually takes
around 2 or 3 hours from port to port- if you stop
for lunch, and it’s a relaxing way to enjoy the morning.
He picked me up with Shaina, his wife, and we
were off to the market.
We were driving for about 20 minutes and that’s
when I heard the news.

Shaina said, “We were going to The Red Lands
to “Country Robert’s.” Not only is it about an hour
and a half away, nothing is organic!
Too late for me to get off this trip!
I was now a prisoner on Shaina’s trip.

“Cest La Vie.”

This kind of thing happens to all of us now and then.
We are forced to do something or go somewhere
that we really don’t want to do and this was one of them.

It turned out to be a lot of fun, although it wasn’t
what I had in mind. I finally got home around
6 O’ clock in the evening and just had to laugh at
how the day went. Let me give you some good advice
when you are “Shanghaied.”

You need to roll with the punches.
You can go kicking and screaming or curl up in your
emotional shell or love what you’re doing when
you are doing it.

Do you remember the song by Crosby Stills & Nash,
‘You gotta love the one you’re with?’
“Don’t be angry, don’t be sad don’t sit crying talking
good times you’ve had Love the one you’re with.”

In every situation we always have a choice.
How we will handle our own emotional state
is 100% up to you.
One can change it at will or be pulled around by our
negative emotional being.

As you go through the exercises in the book and DVD
in the Turn stress Into Power program, you will learn
powerful and yet simple exercises, meditations and
secret hand positions called Mudras; A gesture or position,
usually of the hands, that locks and guides energy flow.

Get your copy today

http://rechargingqigong.com/turn-stress-into-power.html

and take 100% control of your emotions.

I wish you the best in your Health,
Wealth and Happiness

The Best is Yet to Come

October 28th, 2011

Did you know that originally the days
were named after the planets in the night sky?

In Chinese Medicine most of the planets
are also related to the 5 elements and you
can plan your days according to the planets
to give you the maximum insight and personal power.

Monday is ruled by The Moon.
Many of the lunar Goddesses,
like Hecate and Cerridwen are also associated with
magic and the intuitive nature of women. The moon
represents the emotional side of our existence. It is
unconscious, introverted, negative,
and female side of yourself.

Tuesday is ruled by the Fire element
which is the planet Mars.
It’s considered independent and quick,
and when activated, nothing stops it.

Wednesday is ruled by the planet
Mercury -the God of Games, Business, and
Story Telling. Mercury rules communications,
travel, the intellectual part of your personality,
and the functioning of the mind.

Thursday is ruled by The Planet Jupiter which
represents expansion and spiritual growth, –
The Wood Elements. Thursday is named after
THOR, the strongest of all the gods, a protector
of mankind since with his magic hammer; he fought
the battles of the good gods and mankind against the evil giants.

Friday is the metal element and ruled by Venus.
Venus is all about fertility, love and pleasure.
Venus is the goddess of Love, Beauty and a metaphor
for sexual love. Venus shows the ability of relating
to others, and the nature of the desire.
Venus can indicate the type of people we are
attracted to, or the nature of our sense of attraction.
It rules close partnerships and also marriages.

Saturday is ruled by the planet Saturn and the
Earth Element is linked to your Karma. Saturn deepens
feelings of isolation, sadness, and depression.
Once the dark side of Saturn is recognized; its bright
side can be brought into view and enhanced. Saturn is
the symbol for Father Time, for he brought all things to
an end that have a beginning. Saturn’s domain is patience,
stability, maturity and realism. Saturn affects us by
delaying rewards until they are earned.

Sunday: The name comes from the Latin dies solis,
meaning “Sun’s day:” The Sun is about Energy- the god
of gift and sight. The sun represents your will or life force.
It is the conscious, extroverted, positive,
male side of yourself.

I like to cross train and I often break up my routines.
Doing something different each day of the week
It keeps my training exciting and can be a
lot more fun as well as an incentive to ‘keep on keeping on.’
Monday and Friday I put more emphasis on Yin
practices as it relates to the moon and Venus.

Tuesday is a much more vigorous workout because
it’s a Mars day and there is a lot of raw Yang energy.

Wednesday I spend more time practicing and studying
as communications are ruled by Mercury and it’s the time
for travel studying, learning or teaching.
This is the day that I do my ‘out of the office stuff.’

Thursday is ruled by Jupiter and this is my day for
expansion and meditation of all internal practices.

Saturday is my day for discipline’s holding my Qi Gong
stances as well as lots of reading and studying.

Sunday is full of energy as it’s ruled by the Sun and although
it is typically a day of rest in the western world, I do most
of my aerobic exercises on Sunday to recharge my heart.

This is a good way to schedule your week and get
the maximum practice.
One of the reasons behind the creation of the
Recharging Qi Gong set

http://www.rechargingqigong.com/recharging-qi-gong.html

is that it encompasses all of
the planetary aspects of a great workout.

Removing those Stubborn Knots

October 28th, 2011

Two years ago, after a tough workout,
I woke up with a painful knot in the
middle of my back.

As you can imagine I was in pain!
The knot made it hard to move,
breathe and turning from side to side
was nearly imposable.
I’m not used to getting muscle pain since
I always stretch
and relax my muscles in my body and mind.

But now and then, I pull something out of place,
I get a pinched muscle.
The first thing I do when
this happens is stretch using a
‘Ma roller’ then a ‘Styrofoam roller’
to break up the pressure and release the tension.

Then I get some acupuncture.

After that I may get some deep tissue work done.

And then I rub in a Chinese herbal formula in the
painful area.

Usually this is enough to relieve the painful area.
But not always.
Some knots are stubborn -
And take days to shake loose.
This is what happens to many, many people.
They have knots in their shoulders, back and legs
and they got these knots while working out and this
can put you out for days or ever weeks.
I can tell you from experience this is no fun.

A few weeks ago, after a strong workout when I was in Georgia,
I got a killer knot in my back.
I haven’t had anything like it in years.
The good news is I removed it without
massage, acupuncture, herbs or a ‘Styrofoam roller.’

It went away easily and effortlessly. And FAST.

The system I used works for pain, knots and tight muscles
in the neck, shoulders and back.
It also helps remove pain from most areas of the body.

It’s an incredibly simple method that requires no real
effort on your part. You got the knot by exerting too
much effort – so it makes sense that unwinding the
knot will require a method that reverses this process.

In this program “Eliminate Back Pain”

http://rechargingqigong.com/eliminate-your-back-pain.html

you will learn how to
Eliminate and prevent back as well as shoulder pain forever.

Get rid of your pain today – whether it’s in your back,
shoulders or head – you may find the exercise method
to be a miracle worker in your home and office.

Setting A Positive tone for your life will make you Healthy

October 28th, 2011

What you do the first thing
in the morning will set the
tone for the rest of the day.

This is why it’s important to begin
your day with thoughts
of perfect Health, Wealth and Happiness.
Even before your feet hit the floor, you want to start
programming yourself into the realm of success.

No more procrastinating- get things done now!

The key to putting you on success course is
your daily goal – and that goes for
your fitness, health and diet.
The best way to achieve your target is to hit it first
thing in the morning, the earlier the better, and
then the rest of the day will be tremendous.

Before I go to bed I decide
what I want to accomplish the
next day and when I wake up I
know what I am going to do and hop right on it.

I not only stretch my body –
but my mind and spirit as well.

It’s the same with your food, the first thing you
put in your mouth will set your mood for the day
as far as your nutrition goes.

Here is what I do:
I start by drinking a few glasses of pure room
temperature water.
Then I begin my workout before any solids and
as soon as I am done, guess what?
More water!
This way I re-hydrate my body and flush my system
before I start eating anything.
Breakfast is a really important meal so don’t mess
it up with sugar and coffee.
Start out with a protein power drink with some
greens in it or maybe a few eggs, meat, or vegetable juice.
When I was in China we would start out the day with a
bowl of soup, although it’s not the typical Westerner’s
diet- it’s a good one especially as the days get colder,
try it once in awhile and see how you feel.

I bet you’d like some of that good old fashioned ENERGY.
Well, get it the old fashioned way!
Move, hydrate and nourish your body first
thing in the morning.

I recommend the
Recharging Qigong program

http://www.rechargingqigong.com/recharging-qi-gong.html

to all my patients and students to get a full workout
every day physically, mentally and spiritually.

Get this program and you will also receive a hoist of
free gifts that comes with the book and DVD’s.

I wish you the best in your Health,
Wealth and Happiness

“The Ten Linguistic Viruses.”

October 20th, 2011

Attention:
Communication skills affect
all of us in all walks of life.
“Communications is the response you get.”
The information presented here will be most valuable
in changing your Karma.

Last Wednesday I shared some
real gems on communication skills
and I promised you that I would share
with you the “The Ten Linguistic Viruses.”
It is from an article written by,
Matthew Budd, M.D., and Larry Rothstein, Ed.D.
I always keep my promises.

Before I give you the goods, I have
observed from my students and patients
some gems in regards to communications.
When a student tells me that he his going
to do something and doesn’t do it, it causes
more havoc in their life than one could ever imagine.
Here is an example: I’ve known John for years,
every time I see him he says,
“Dr. Wu I am going to meet you on the
beach in the morning to train will you
call me in the morning?”

So for a few weeks I did call John early
in the morning to remind him but he always
has an excuse on why he can’t go.
Sometimes it’s about the wind being too
strong, other times it’s about no wind at
all and it’s too still for him. What makes
me laugh is the evening calls are all about
being ‘gung ho’ to train and get in shape
but the morning calls are all about excuses.
I don’t know if John really gets what he is
doing to himself; it’s costly in more ways
than one could imagine.
When you say you’re going to do something,
you are giving your word, your promise to perform.
When you don’t do it you are not only breaking
your word and your promise, you are
causing a break in your integrity.

Our body and mind likes to be congruent,
so when you are continually breaking the
commitment and promise of doing what you
say you will do then your body and mind will
naturally still strive to keep you honest.

Listed below, are the
“Ten Linguistic Viruses.”
They attack relationships, alter
the structures
of the individuals in them and cause
dissatisfaction, bad moods and
even ill health. Learning what they are
will allow you to listen to
others more effectively, and heal them
as well as yourself.

1. NOT MAKING REQUESTS.

There may be something that you
want or need from someone else, but
you don’t make a request. Why is this?
You may have a reluctance or
fear about asking others for something:
They could say no and cause
you to feel rejected. In fact, a no to a
request is just that, no to
the action of requesting, not a rejection
of the person.

Another reason people don’t make
requests is that they’re afraid
others will think they’re incompetent.
But making a request is not an
admission of weakness. The president of
the United States or the CEO
of a large corporation makes a staggering
number of requests each day.
In fact, one aspect of power is the capacity
to make powerful requests.

Still another reason people don’t make
requests is that they think a
request is an imposition. They forget that
one way that people achieve
meaning in their lives is in fulfilling the
requests of others.
A request simply invites another person to
participate in your life.
Take this as a way to honor others,
not to burden them.

2. LIVING WITH UN-COMMUNICATED EXPECTATIONS.

A common form of “not requesting”
occurs when an individual lives in
a world of expectations that are really
just unexpressed requests.

Often we have private conversations
with ourselves about what others
should and should not do. But we never
make overt requests of these
people. Subsequently, when they don’t do
what we expect, we’re
disappointed, resentful and angry.

The solution is to translate “shoulds”
into clear requests.
The benefit will be less resentment,
less anger, less guilt and more
satisfying relationships.

3. MAKING UNCLEAR REQUESTS.

A husband may say to his wife,
“I want you to support my career.”
Can you see that the husband may have a
different picture than the wife of
what “support” looks like?

What kind of support? When? All of
this information is missing. Later
on, when a minor problem arises, the
maker of the unclear request is
likely to say, “You promised to support
my career, but you didn’t!”

To coordinate your life successfully
with others, your requests must
be precise and detailed. You’re not
insulting the listener, you’re
setting up the possibility for mutual satisfaction.
It’s not enough
that you understand; the person receiving the
request must share your
understanding.

4. NOT OBSERVING THE MOOD OF YOUR REQUESTS

The mood of your utterance, as
much as your words, affects the
listener. If you’re demanding, people
might decline your requests
because they see you as arrogant and
righteous, or they might make
promises to you out of intimidation, not choice.

My high school algebra teacher
always made requests in the tone and
mood of demands. Students rarely declined
his requests, but acted
resentfully when they tried to do
what he had asked.

A suggestion: Observe the mood
produced in the listener of your
request; adjust your mood to produce
the “listening” you want.

5. PROMISING EVEN WHEN YOU
AREN’T CLEAR WHAT WAS REQUESTED.

Committing yourself when you aren’t
clear about what you’ve committed
to is foolish. Sometimes a person thinks
he knows what’s being asked
of him, so he begins an activity, such as
making a meal. But as he
goes along, his lack of clarity is revealed.
He becomes confused.
What did she really want?
What if I’m doing it wrong?

If you’re not sure what the requester
wants, clarify it with him or
her. You won’t look stupid. Rather,
you’ll be building an identity of
being committed to fulfilling his or her request.

6. NOT DECLINING REQUESTS.

Some of us say yes to every request.
We’ve been trained to please
other people, and this is made manifest
in our compliance. The problem
with this belief is that it’s destructive
for both you and others.

The yes sayers’ are often overloaded
with promises to keep. The result
is a perpetual fear of failure, which
prompted the compliance in the
first place. This vicious cycle generates
anxiety, exhaustion and
burnout.

Things aren’t much better for the people
receiving the yes sayers’
promises. They never know which
promises will be fulfilled and which
ones are in jeopardy. Over time, people
become distrustful of the yes
sayer. They think, “You just never can
be sure about him; he’s not
sincere.”

An inability to say no is not a problem
of articulation or diction,
but of an embodied tendency to have
to say yes, to be “nice” and not
to upset others. Learning to say no
requires practice for those yes
sayers who find it difficult.

7. BREAKING PROMISES WITHOUT
TAKING CARE: UNDERMINING TRUST.

When you make a promise, you’re building
expectations that you will
take action. If the promise is broken, the
person will begin to lose
trust in you and feel betrayed.

We are all human and cannot know the future.
In the process of
fulfilling a promise, things may happen that
keep you from completion.

If you simply ignore your promise, you’re
consciously betraying your
word and not taking care of the other party.
In contrast, if you
contact the requester, describe the present
problems that are keeping
you from fulfilling your promise, apologize
for the broken promise,
offer to make a new promise in a time frame
that you can guarantee and
assist with the cleaning up of any
mess that you produced.

8. TREATING ASSESSMENTS AS FACTS.

There is no truth to statements of judgment.
You can provide evidence
for what you say, but that still doesn’t
make it the truth. If we
treat assessments as truth, conflict arises.

People who hold their assessments as the
truth are generally rigid or
arrogant. They cannot stand diversity and
become angry at
differences. These people are a pain to be
around and are themselves
uneasy.

9.MAKING ASSESSMENTS
WITHOUT RIGOROUS GROUNDING.

Even though your judgments
aren’t the truth, you can make them with
rigorous “grounding” – that is, you
can say what you say based on
evidence.

People who make assessments
without rigor are viewed as flaky and full
of opinions that change like the weather.
They aren’t taken seriously
and they often suffer from insecurity and
low self-esteem. Gossip is
an especially harmful kind of assessment,
which lacks rigor and
purpose. Gossips get a false sense
of power from this activity, but
underneath they remain insecure and uneasy.

Connect your declarations with
possible plans for action for which you
are accountable, preferably to someone else.

10.MAKING FANTASY
AFFIRMATIONS AND DECLARATIONS.

When you make a fantasy affirmation
or declaration, you assume that it
will happen by itself. An example
would be declaring that you would
like to start a restaurant, even though
you don’t know anything about
cooking or how to run a business.

By contrast, a realistic affirmation or
declaration pictures a reality
that does not yet exist, but is attainable
through a series of
reasonable steps.

The 10 Linguistic Viruses not only create
ineffectiveness and friction
between people, but also produce negative
mood states, which, in turn,
threaten your well-being and health.
For instance, people who never
make requests usually don’t get what they
want in life and are often
disappointed and stuck. Such people may
have secret expectations of
others, which they never express. This also
leads to disappointment
and anger and resentment.

Inertia and anger are both negative mood
states that produce bodily changes in the
muscles, circulation, heart
and brain. People who can’t decline requests
also place their health
in jeopardy. They are often overburdened
and become exhausted, burned
out and depressed.

If language is the foundation upon which
human life is built, on which
we construct our human interactions and
even our notion of self, then
competence in language will bring you more
satisfaction, joy and
effectiveness in living.
My work with thousands of patients bears
this out. When people become aware
of their behavior in the
linguistic domain, they achieve greater
effectiveness, greater
satisfaction and a better mood.

I wish you the best in your Health,
Wealth and Happiness

Is the Government Making you FAT?

September 29th, 2011

I was in Michigan with my friend
Frank eating breakfast in a little
Greek place located in Royal Oak.
I picked up the morning newspaper
and read this article by Dr. Paul Donohue
from Orlando, Florida.

“High – fructose corn syrup a
factor in obesity.”

“Dear Doctor,
I don’t remember you ever
discussing high-fructose corn syrup and
condensed corn syrup. Almost every product
includes these ingredients. Please let us know
the dangers and why the government allows it.

Fructose is the sugar found in fruits. Table
sugar is sucrose, a combination of fructose
and glucose .Up to the 1980s, sucrose was the
universal sweetener. In the 1980s, a process was
discovered that turned cornstarch into corn syrup
and then into fructose. Fructose was then combined
with glucose to produce a sugar product with the
terrible name of high- fructose corn syrup. It’s very
similar to sucrose, table sugar. High – fructose corn
syrup consists of 45 percent glucose and 55 percent
fructose. Table sugar is 50 percent glucose and 50
percent fructose.

High-fructose corn syrup is as sweet as and cheaper
than table sugar, the sugar that comes from
sugar cane and sugar beets. Manufacturers use it
in commercial products like soft drinks, baked goods,
energy bars and many candies.
So why all the fuss? People have increased their
consumption of high-fructose corn syrup foods and
drinks so much that they have become a main source
of their calorie intake. Some think it is the reason that
the obesity epidemic has struck North America. Like
other sugars, this can lead to problems like diabetes.
Excessive amounts cause fat accumulation in the liver.

One 12-ounce can of most soft drinks has the equivalent of
10 teaspoons of sugar, 150 calories – a large sugar load
and a large calorie load. The average American drinks
36 gallons of soft drinks in a year.”

Lately, the corn industry has been running ads saying
that high fructose corn syrup is like a healthy vegetable.

I don’t think so!
Eating and drinking High-fructose corn syrup affects
your health way more than you can imagine. Read all
labels before you put anything in your mouth. Here are
just a few of problems caused by the intake of
High-fructose corn syrup.

* Weight gain
* Heart disease
* Increases in body fat
* Higher levels of triglycerides
* Bad cholesterol, the type that sticks to your arteries!
* Diabetes
* Makes people want to eat more
* Osteoporosis
* Gout
* Fibromyalgia

You may be asking yourself right now, why would
our government allow something to be put in our
foods that would do so much harm?

Big corporations have strong lobbyists who work to
get legislation through. They pay lots and lots of
money to give big business what they want –and
they want money and power. It doesn’t have
anything to do with your health or wellbeing.
What can you do?

1. Read all labels
2. Ask for healthy products in your super market
3. Don’t buy foods or drinks with high fructose corn syrup
4. Avoid restaurants that use that stuff in their kitchen
5. Stop drinking all sodas
6. Keep reading Dr Wu’s blog www.rechargingqigong.com
7. Get your friends to read Dr. Wu’s blog

The more locally grown fresh food you put into
your diet, the better chances you have of staying
healthy and dis-ease free.

I thank you for reading my new letters and please tell
your friends to sign up for them.
They will be thanking you for years.

I wish you the best in your Health,
Wealth and Happiness
