Can A Pocket Watch Save You Time?

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

Ever since I can remember my Dad collected pocket watches.
He belonged to a few Horology organizations.
Horology is the science of measuring time and the art of
making timepieces. Dad specialized in fine pocket watches;
he had railroad pocket watches with trains etched on the
cases.
Some showed the movement of the sun and the moon,
others chimed and they were all wound by hand or a key.

I learned how to handle fine timepieces as a youngster,
how to open them, wind them, not over wind them and to
appreciate the beautiful etchings integrate work of the Gold
and Coin Silver watches.

One day back, years and years ago, I asked Dad why he liked
to collect watches. He said, “Son, all we have is time,
and I love the things that keep track of time. We only have so
much time and you have to make good use of it before it’s gone.
You can never get it back.”

I thought a lot about my Dad’s statements about time this
morning when I was doing my Qi Gong practice.
Time is precious, Time is limited, all we have is time,
make good use of your time, it can be all gone before
you know it.

“Time is free, but it’s priceless.
You can’t own it, but you can use it.
You can’t keep it,
but you can spend it.
Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.”

- Harvey MacKay

How many times have you let time slip away?
When I tell people that I get up early every morning
before the sun is up and train they look at me like I
am from another planet.

I hear things like- “I could never get up that early!”
“I need to sleep at least 8 hours a night or I don’t function well.”
This one always make me laugh-
“I’m too tired to do energy exercises.”

“He who fails to train trains to fail.”

Excuses are excuses.
Your excuses waists your valuable time and energy,
there is no action in an excuse.
It’s time to step up and make some changes in your
life for the better.
Your time is precious,
your time is limited and time is ticking.
Make a decision now to start training with me and
make your time count. www.rechargingqigong.com

The Most Powerful day of the Year

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Today is the summer Solstice the longest day of the year
filled with abundant energy and lots of sunshine.
It’s in the nineties in South Florida that’s why
I start my training at 5:30 in the morning.
It’s still cool and there was a nice breeze
coming off the ocean. Summer is about growth,
creativity, expansion and staying active.
This is a time when our bodies go through
maximum activities, so expect lots of heat
inside and out. To stay healthy this summer,
keep your priorities in maintaining your heart,
mind and spirit in top shape, which are all part
of the fire element.

If the heart is in harmony, the taste buds in our
tongue works efficiently. It’s important to have
tongue cleaning as part of your hygiene regiment,
if you aren’t doing tongue scraping start today.

You may be asking your self what’s

The Purpose of Tongue Cleaning
By removing the soft plaque from the tongue you are
removing most of the bacteria and other garbage
that are the primary source of bad breath,
hard plaque (tartar) and tooth decay.
You can pick up a tongue scraper at the health
food store or a spoon will work just fine.

 “The supernatural forces of summer
create heat in the Heavens
and  fire on Earth;
they create the heart
and the pulse within the body…
the red color, the tongue,
and the ability to express laughter…
they create the bitter flavor,
and the emotions of
happiness and joy”.

-THE YELLOW EMPEROR’S CLASSIC OF INTERNAL MEDICINE
June 21st. is when the sun reaches its highest point,
the day with the greatest number of daylight hours
and the shortest night of the year. Soon after,
 the days will get shorter.

In Chinese medicine, summer is associated with
the Fire element and with heat.
The heart is the fire element of the body and
if there is too much heat in the heart,
the heat will rise and eventually disrupt the mind.
To have a balanced mind, do more Yin type exercises
like the Qi Gong Yin Set found in the back of the
book of the Recharging Qi Gong Program

http://www.rechargingqigong.com/recharging-qi-gong.html

and the Healing Sounds, they will keep you cool all summer
and benefit the heart

When the change of the season happens, especially during
the winter and summer solstice, is an opportunity to reset
your internal clock. The summer solstice is called the
Midsummer because it’s around the middle of the growing season,
a period of abundant growth. So wake early and seek the
sun for nourishment to thrive just as the plants and trees do.

This is the perfect time to a detox program
http://www.energymedicineflorida.com/detox-kit.html
I’m staying quiet busy these days, working writing and
training every day early morning.
If you’re in Florida join me on the beach 6:30 am on 95
and Collins on the beach.
I will also be conducting Meditation classes every Wednesday
at 7pm, at the Whole Life Health and Wellness in Aventura.
I invite you to join me. You can call for details 786-271-0325

Are We Having FUN Yet?

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

When I was a small boy growing up in Detroit

my Dad would come home every night after

Work around 6:30 and before dinner he would

play with my brother and me before doing

anything else.

We would beg him to stand on his head and

Dad who was in good shape would do a head

stand for us. He loved to stand on his head

like a yogi right in the middle of the living

 room.

Every time he did this coins would fall from his

pockets.

My brother and I would scurry around and grab

as much loose change as we could while my father

pretended to protest, “give me back my money” from

his inverted position.

In truth it was as much fun for him as it was

for us.

My Dad was the youngest of a family of eight

and being the baby of that family he was always having

fun with siblings even into adulthood.

Life for him was about play, having fun being with friends and family.

Dad successfully instilled this outlook of life

onto me and my brother.

Even when we would go with him to work in downtown

Detroit we had fun, maybe even the most fun of all.

The word work and the drudgery that goes along with

it never made any sense to me or my brother because

of this.

People hate to work but they use this word for

stuff that isn’t even work. Did you ever notice

that everywhere it does get used people are really

serious.

Serious people in the gym are Working Out.

For serious training you go to a Workshop.

When you’re serious about beauty you call

it a Work of art. If you’re serious about

your Work they say you have Work ethic.

Some even practice Spiritual Work.

I’ve done my best to work and be conscious

over the years, I really have, but most of

the time I can’t help but

consider how much fun I’m having.

If you love what your doing work is fun.

If I’m not having fun or moving to a higher

level of “fun” in the sense of being able to

contribute; making a difference; learning;

growing and to feel that I am part of a

successful group that is making a difference

in the world, it’s usually not fun and I am

not doing it or at least not for long.

What I’ve learned is that you can’t push

other people to work they are either workers

or not, but you can make it rewarding and Fun.

This gets you and others to be much more protective.

Everyone loves to have Fun.

Sometimes it’s just a matter of reminding ourselves

that we’re having fun.

Try it.

There are many situations that are supposed to be

fun that we often add tension to and they instantly

become serious situations or work.

At these times simply say aloud “This is fun”.

You’ll either break the tension in the room or

You’ll actually change the

orientation of yourself and others from one of

seriousness to one of FUN.

If you saw me doing Recharging Qi Gong with my

students on the beach I doubt you’d say that looks

like a lot of work. It’s actually a lot of fun and

it looks like fun, feels life Fun and it is Fun too.

Big smiles on everyone’s face and some occasional

Laughter is normal.

This is not your usual “Workout” and so far it’s been

producing unusual results in those that have gotten

the program

http://rechargingqigong.com and started to use it.

If you want more vitality and pep in your step I

encourage you to make a change.

Go to http://rechargingqigong.com and find out how

you can use these simple and gentle movements every

day to pump up you Qi power and invigorate your internal

organs

Wishing you the best in Health, Wealth and Happiness,

Self Talk can Suck away your Qi

Friday, December 25th, 2009

Early Christmas morning I walked down to my favored place on the beach and
started my Qi Gong training. It was longer than usual workout and I went
into a very deep meditative space for quite awhile. It wasn’t until
Marie came over to me to give me a big hug and a
Merry Christmas wish that I came totally back into my body.
She reads my health tips daily (www.Rechargingqigong.com)
and trains with me on the weekends. Marie  asked if
I would elaborate on what Guarding your speech is all about.

In many spiritual traditions they say our
speech can be a big drain on our energy or be used as a
powerful tool to transmit energy.

Many teachers use silence to keep from wasting their energy

and my teachers always put a big emphasis on the importance of what we say and how we say it.

It’s always a good idea keep your “SELF TALK” positively
all the time. People try to say nice things to others but
when it comes to self they are constantly putting themselves
down. This is usually a sign of poor self-esteem. But it is more critical to our spiritual growth and inner development than one could imagine. This is a form of self inflicted cruelty. It will cause problems with your health. In body mind and spirit.

When we have disturbing attitudes and imprints of negativities
of speech it take the form of liquid tar, poison our mind and
flow out through the upper openings of your body:
Eyes, ears, mouth, nose, etc.

“What you say is what you get.”

As you change your Self Talk to positive, happy and productive
things they will start appearing in your life that way.

“Stinking Thinken”  as Zig Ziggler called it ,is a killer of health Spirit and growth.

Here some tips to channel your Self Talk

  1. Say only positive statements to your self and others.

2. Only use words of kindness, this will heal you and
others instantly.
3. Walk away from conversations of gossip, slander and
other negative forms of speech. They will only
drain your Qi.
4. Avoid Destructive Speech, no matter if it’s to others or self
another drainer of Qi. If it’s not kind, true or necessary,
Don’t think it or Say It.
5. Never judge yourself or others, It waists the Energy
you have been building.

6. Your Posture reveals your state of mind-
Body language is a big give away to how and what you are
thinking. A smile on the inside will reflect our self talk
and show on your face.
7. Loose lips sink ships or” Don’t start no shit there
won’t be any shit”
8. Forgive. If you have been wronged, let it go.
Those who can forgive live healthier, happier,
and live less stressful lives.
That little under the breath comments that we may make can suck your Qi away faster than Good Old St. Nick goes.
I wish you the best in your Health, Wealth and Happiness

The Magic of Winter Intenal Qi Gong

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Last night I came home after sundown and the whole
house was completely dark.
Instead of turning on the lights I lit a candle.
I never do this sort of thing but the house seemed
so quiet and peaceful I wanted to just sit and open
to the quietness.

I spent the majority of the night in contemplative
meditation. We are in the Winter Solstice and it is
an excellent time to take time to be quiet and reflect
on the past year.
I recommend doing this for yourself as a matter of
self-cultivation.
With all the crazy energy around the holidays and
year-end you want to make sure that you cool-out
and recollect yourself before you burn-out.
Once you do I think you will find that the rush of
the holidays and year-end quiets down and you can
refocus on those things that are most important.

In Chinese medicine Winter is associated with the
element Water. Water energy has the attributes of:
•Cold
•Damp
•Quiet
•Stillness
•Calmness
•Smoothness
•Listening
•The Kidney organ and meridian

This energy is available in the atmosphere
throughout the winter. Just slow down,
sit quietly in a natural place and pull in the
atmosphere. Winter Water energy is also
associated with a special type of Awareness that,
from Chinese to English, best translates as
Alert Stillness. In the Chinese Medicine system we
use animal associations to signify these types of
energy, and as such, the animal for the water element
and organ of the Kidney is the Deer.
The Deer is chosen because it is a master of Alert
Stillness. When you think of a deer you think of an
animal that is impossible to sneak up on.
The slightest snap of a twig and the Deer has
disappeared. This is not the same type of power of
a Tiger or a Dragon but it is a type of power that
completes us.
In the Ba Gua system of Martial Arts it takes a
whole circle of animals to become a Master.
We cannot always Push, Push, Push, sometimes we
need to sit, take inventory, and listen to the
atmosphere.
This is the power in the symbol of the deer and that
is the power of this time of year.
So take advantage of this time of solstice when this
energy is most powerful and abundant, you will not be
able to tap into this energy so easily in other seasons.
Winter, not just the New Year, is the best time to set
new plans and goals into action.
Take inventory of what is happening around you.
Upon deep consideration you may see more then
before.
Clarity is not achieved when you are rushing or
being hasty.
Opening is found in reflection.

Wishing you the best in Health, Wealth and Happiness,
Dr. Wu Dhi
